Vantique, operated by 9525-7416 Québec inc. ("we", "us", "our"), provides this store and website, including all related information, content, features, tools, products and services (the "Services"). The Services are powered by Shopify. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you visit or make a purchase through the Services, or otherwise communicate with us.

By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and understand how your information is collected, used and disclosed as described here. If there is any conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy governs the collection, processing and disclosure of your personal information.

Who is responsible

We are the party responsible for the personal information described in this policy, including for the purposes of Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25). Our person in charge of the protection of personal information can be reached through the chat on our Contact page or in writing at the address above.

Personal information we collect

"Personal information" means information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you. It does not include information that has been anonymized or de-identified so it can no longer be linked to you. Depending on how you interact with the Services, we may collect:

  • Contact details — your name, shipping address, billing address, and email address, and phone number where you choose to provide one.
  • Order and payment information — the items you view, add to your bag, purchase, return or cancel; your past orders; payment method and payment confirmation. Full card numbers are transmitted directly to the payment processor in encrypted form — we never see or store them.
  • Account information — your login email, password, and preferences, if you create an account.
  • Communications — the content of messages you send us, for example through the chat on our Contact page.
  • Device and usage information — your IP address, browser and device details, and how you navigate the Services, collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies.

Where it comes from

  • Directly from you, when you place an order, create an account, subscribe to our email list, or message us;
  • Automatically, through cookies and similar technologies when you use the Services;
  • From our service providers, principally Shopify, which hosts the store and processes payments on our behalf.

We do not buy personal information from data brokers.

How we use it

  • Providing the Services — processing payments, fulfilling and shipping orders, handling returns and refunds, maintaining your account, remembering your bag between visits, and sending you transactional messages about your order.
  • Marketing — sending marketing email only if you have opted in. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. We do not send marketing text messages, and we do not run an SMS programme.
  • Security and fraud prevention — authenticating accounts, securing checkout, and detecting and investigating fraudulent or malicious activity. If you create an account, keep your credentials to yourself.
  • Support — responding to your messages and maintaining our relationship with you.
  • Legal compliance — complying with applicable law, responding to valid legal process, and enforcing our terms and policies.

How we disclose it

We do not sell your personal information. We disclose it only:

  • To Shopify and other service providers who perform services on our behalf — hosting, payment processing, analytics, and the carriers who deliver your order. Each receives only what it needs for its task.
  • When you direct or consent to a disclosure — for example, giving a shipping address so a carrier can deliver.
  • In connection with a business transaction such as a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply to the transferred information.
  • Where required by law — to respond to subpoenas, warrants or similar requests, or to protect our rights, our customers, or others.

Relationship with Shopify

The Services are hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of the Services in order to provide and improve them. Information you submit through the store is transmitted to and shared with Shopify, and may be processed in countries other than the one you live in. To learn how Shopify uses personal information, see the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy, where you may also exercise rights over information processed by Shopify.

Third-party links

The Services may link to websites we do not operate. We are not responsible for the privacy or security of those sites; review their policies before providing them any information.

Children

The Services are not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority in their province or country of residence. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Where your information goes

Our service providers may store or process personal information outside Quebec and outside Canada, including in the United States. Information held in another jurisdiction is subject to that jurisdiction's laws and may be accessible to its authorities. Before communicating personal information outside Quebec, we take into account the protection the information would receive, as Law 25 requires.

Security and retention

No security measure is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — please do not send us sensitive information through unsecured channels. We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above: order records for as long as tax and accounting law requires, marketing subscriptions until you unsubscribe, and account information until you ask us to close the account.

Your rights

Subject to the conditions and exceptions of applicable law, you may:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you and be informed of how it is used and to whom it has been communicated;
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • Delete — ask us to delete personal information, subject to records we are legally required to keep;
  • Withdraw consent to marketing at any time, using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us — withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before it;
  • Portability — receive computerized personal information you provided to us in a structured, commonly used technological format.

To exercise any of these rights, message us through the chat on our Contact page or write to the address above. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time applicable law requires. We will not penalize you for exercising your rights.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal information or a request, you may lodge a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or, elsewhere in Canada, with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Cookies

The Services use cookies to keep your bag between pages, keep you signed in, and understand how the store is used. You can refuse cookies in your browser settings, but the bag and checkout will not work correctly without them.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date, and material changes will be notified as applicable law requires.
