About

Vantique is a small apparel label working out of Brossard, Quebec. We make twelve things. Six dresses, six accessories. That is the whole catalogue, and it is deliberate.

Why twelve

Most stores our size carry two hundred styles and sell nine of them. The rest sit in a warehouse getting marked down. We would rather cut one dress properly than carry nine variations of it, so every piece here has to earn its place against the eleven others. If it does not, it does not get made.

That constraint shows up in the details. The wrap dress has a real tie, not a decorative one sewn to a hidden zip. The shirt dress has a proper collar stand and working cuffs. The card holder is unlined vegetable-tanned leather, so it thins and softens where you hold it instead of delaminating. None of that survives a two-hundred-style range.

How we make things

Small runs, restocked when they sell out rather than replaced by something new. Fabrics are chosen first and the pattern is drawn to suit them — washed European linen that arrives already soft, cotton poplin heavy enough to hold a press through a full day, fine-gauge merino that packs flat and comes out of a suitcase unwrinkled.

We do not run seasonal collections. When a piece sells through, we make it again. When a fabric is no longer available at the quality we want, we stop making that piece rather than substituting quietly.

Sizing

Dresses are cut XS to XL, though not every run covers the full range — the size available on each product page is the size we actually made. Every product lists its fit, its fabric composition by percentage, and how to care for it. If something needs to be sized down, the fit notes say so.

If you are between sizes or unsure, ask us before you order. We would rather answer a question than process a return.
